Client description: Poster for the exhibition of Basque photographer Jon Cazenave. An itinerant exhibition and a book titled Herri ixilean (In the quiet country / silent scream) are the result of a project produced by GETXOPHOTO in collaboration with the Euskal Kultur Erakundea (Institut Culturel Basque) and with support from Getxo Councils Basque Language Support Service.
Brief: Jon Cazenave, basque artist and his first publication Herri Ixielan, deep and powerful images an internal trip of the artist trying to find his roots around the basque country.
Approach and solution: we decide to design a book and poster that can translate the feeling of the photographs, making all pages black with a minimal difference of the full black on the images so the viewer can see clearly where the image ends. For the cover we made the title on UV transparent varnish to represent the silent scream.
